Genix.co.uk launches national competition which offers opportunity and funds for budding photographers
IN CELEBRATION of 50 years in the photographic industry Jeff Vickers FRPS Chairman of Genix Imaging Ltd.,(www.genix.co.uk) is proposing to sponsor three bursaries in support of young professional or would be professional photographers. These bursaries will be for three years at £5000 pa each. It is anticipated that there will be one per year for three years each lasting three years. In total they will run for five years at £45,000. These bursaries are for supporting professional or potential professional photographers in commercial photography who must demonstrate a flair for imaging, creativity in their work, together with enthusiasm and dedication.

Applications are invited from those up to the age of 30 who are currently in commercial photographic practice or who can demonstrate that they will become involved. Applicants will be asked to provide a portfolio of their work, preferably in electronic form in the first instance , a written summary of no more than 500 words on how they anticipate they will spend the bursary and benefit from the award on the application form. The bursary can be spent on equipment, facilities or travel as justified in the application.
Those short-listed will be invited for an interview and will be expected to provide a brief presentation of their work and their objectives. The closing date for applications will be March 31st 2008 and it is anticipated that those short-listed will be interviewed in May 2008.
